Vintage Portmeirion Botanic Garden Yellow Cytisus Scoparius Broom Drum Flat Cup. The beautiful cup is made of creamy white colored earthenware with royal blue butterflies, green caterpillars, and vivid yellow blossoms and green leaves. The beautiful cup is made of creamy white colored earthenware with royal blue butterflies, green caterpillars, and vivid yellow blossoms and green leaves. The pattern was introduced in 1972 and was inspired from Victorian era botanical drawings. The cup’s back stamp dates the age of the cup after 1982. The “flat” description for this cup means that the bottom of the cup sits flat upon a surface - it does not have a foot under the cup’s bottom. The flat drum cup is 3-1/4” round and is 2-5/8” tall. It is 4-3/4” wide from edge of cup to end of handle and weighs 7.1 ounces empty. It holds 8 ounces of water to the rim. This cup is a fun piece of art and would certainly brighten someone’s coffee/tea time with its bright flowers and butterflies and caterpillars! The cup is used, in excellent vintage condition.
