I have seen this binding described as 'vellum', 'faux vellum' and 'paper vellum'. This copy was once in the collection of The American Academy in Rome and has some minor markings: ink stamps to the title page; discreet pencil Library numbers to the top corner of the front endpaper; discreet Library numbers and the word 'Stack' in black ink on the upper left corner of the front cover.
