Description
Weight: 9 3/4 Ounce Size Approx: 4.70 inch x 2.70 inch 2.00 inch Description: Rare Gary Green Jasper (also known as Larsonite , Bog Wood Jasper , or Caldera Jasper ) from Oregon, USA. This unique fossilized wood was formed from ancient bogs near volcanic activity, resulting in vibrant layers of green, blue, brown, tan, and gray . Ideal for lapidary, display, or metaphysical collections. Features of Gary Green Jasper (Larsonite): Color palette: Beautifully banded in tones of sage green, teal, forest green , with accents of tan, beige, gray, and deep brown . Some pieces may include scenic patterns or tree ring-like structures. Patterns: Flowing bands or scenic, layered textures that resemble ancient landscapes or fossilized swamp roots. Some pieces may also show brecciated zones or botryoidal textures. Hardness: ~6.5–7 on the Mohs scale — excellent for polishing, carving, or cabbing. Location: Mined near McDermitt Caldera , on the Oregon-Nevada border — a site famous for its fossil wood turned jasper through volcanic mineralization. Formation: Larsonite formed when ancient wood from swampy bogs was buried in volcanic ash and slowly replaced with silica and mineral oxides. This process preserved the organic structure while giving the stone its signature green hues. Rarity: True Gary Green Jasper is increasingly rare , as the original mining area has been largely exhausted or restricted. Specimens with bold green banding , multiple colors, or scenic patterns are especially sought after by lapidaries and collectors. Energetic & Spiritual Properties: This fossilized jasper is believed to: Ground and calm emotional energy Connect with ancient Earth and nature spirits Promote inner balance, patience, and resilience Align with the heart and root chakras Perfect for: ✔ Lapidary cutting (slabs, cabochons, carving) ✔ Raw or polished specimen collections ✔ Earth-based spiritual practices ✔ Nature-themed or fossil displays Additional Information: 📸 Photos taken in bright, direct lighting to showcase true color and detail.
