Original WW2 era photograph of a RAF serviceman with DH82 Tiger Moth aircraft, in desert terrain. Visible on the underside of the wing are the letters "VT", which was the squadron code used by No.216 Squadron, No.30 Squadron and No.1556 Flight RAF. Both No.216 and No.30 Squadrons saw service in North Africa, but the latter only for relatively short periods, whereas No.216 Squadron was in North Africa & Middle East throughout the war. No.30 Squadron operated Bristol Blenheims in fighter and bomber roles, while No.216 Squadron operated a variety of aircraft principally in a transport role. Consequently, this aircraft was most probably with No.216 Squadron RAF. Dimensions approximately 8.5cm x 6.1cm (including border). Happy to combine postage for multiple purchases!
