Sono state utilizzate due interazioni di fattori con quattro livelli di inoculazione di ceppi fungini AM, ovvero controllo non inoculato (Mo), Gigaspora ACP-1 (M1), Glomus ACP-2 (M2) e Scutellospora ACP-2 (M3) e quattro livelli di applicazione di zinco, ovvero 0, 150, 300 e 450 mg kg-1 di terreno. Lo zinco è stato applicato sotto forma di solfato di zinco in soluzione nei vasi interessati dal trattamento. Ci sono stati quindi sedici trattamenti in totale. I dettagli di ciascun trattamento sono riportati nella tabella 3. Ciascun trattamento è stato replicato sei volte.
