Description This is a gosu sake cup by Kanjiro Kawai. This is a richly textured piece with beautiful scenery. Kawai Kanjiro (1890-1966) In the world of ceramics, where the relationship between teacher and apprentice is highly valued, Kawai Kanjiro became a potter of the new generation who received instruction at the educational institution of a school. He also studied glazes and imitated and researched past ceramics such as Chinese ceramics, and built a kiln on Gojozaka in Kyoto (the current site of the “Memorial Hall”), which he named the Shonkei Kiln, and became independent. Size Diameter 6.7cm/Height 6.7cm (Please allow for slight variations) Condition At a glance, there are no flaws, cracks or repairs. Please be aware that this is an antique and that there may be some scratches and slips due to the passage of time. Please see the pictures for detailed condition.
