The shape and dimensions of the (official) Rikyu-gata have been preserved and passed down from generation to generation by Senke Jisshoku (The Ten Craftsmen of the House of Sen). On the other hand, there are also tea utensils that do not use paper patterns, but Rikyu instructed the craftsmen to make approximate designs such as color, shape, and size. Together, they are called Rikyu-gonomi, a tea utensils that Rikyu liked. This book introduces about 200 Rikyu-gonomi with excellent photographs and beautiful layouts. These tools include tools made by Rikyu himself and Tools found by Rikyu's aesthetic. Rikyu-gonomi tea utensils are still used in the tea ceremony even now, more than 400 years after Rikyu devised them.
