You're looking at an excellent overall condition book which is a remarkable memoir of the Nazi Nuremberg Trials and a subsequent twenty years prison sentence in Spandau Prison written by Adolph Hitler's close confidante, personal architect and Minister of Armaments ALBERT SPEER--the book is a collectible unstated FIRST EDITION and a HARDCOVER with no dustjacket. This book is in excellent overall condition and has a very light discolored spot and very light wrinkle on the lower page edge at the spine end with a light wrinkle on the lower centers of some of the book's central pages, very light fading on the spine edge, very slight and sparse foxing on the opening and lower page edges and a couple of tiny dust spots on the upper page edge, light non-sticky glue residue on the boards and first / last pages where a dustjacket was formerly attached and some light specks of dust on the boards and first / last pages and just very light shelfwear and light evidence of gentle browsing but no other significant imperfections! The book is titled Spandau: The Secret Diaries and it was written by ALBERT SPEER and translated from the German by RICHARD & CLARA WINSTON; it was published by Macmillan Publishing Co., Inc. in 1976 and is an unstated 1st EDITION copy. He served as Hitler's architect, the undisputed master of the German war machine, and the one responsible for conscripted foreign labor in the Third Reich. And, when Albert Speer was captured and sentenced at Nuremberg--after becoming the only defendant to plead guilty--he started keeping this secret diary, much of it on toilet paper. After 20 years of imprisonment, he found 25,000 of the smuggled pages waiting for him, and from those entries he shaped this deeply powerful document. A fantastic find, and a beaut iful copy of this book! Thanks for looking, and good luck if you're bidding!
