Pressing Matters, Hardcover by Stuart Weitzman School of Design (COR), ISBN 1951541456, ISBN-13 9781951541453, Brand New, Free shipping in the US This year Pressing Matters 9 was completely rethought; the aim was to present an Open Source publication that shares the Department of Architecture’s concept of design-research, an integral approach of critical thinking, rigorous research, and a deep understanding of the complex layers of architecture. Together with Jonathan Jackson of the renowned design Studio WSDIA in NYC, a more integral design was developed, allowing input from research [ARI labs], students, faculty and Penn’s special events. The content and layout focus on an in-depth representation on how in recent years we have integrated expertise and content from our courses into our Design Studio’s. Pressing Matters is an annual design and research compilation from the Department of Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design, showcasing student work, faculty research, and innovations in pedagogy.
The Department launched the one-year MSD-RAS program this year, directed by Assistant Professor Robert Stuart-Smith. The Master of Science in Design: Robotics and Autonomous Systems aims to critically develop novel approaches to the design, manufacturing, construction, use, and lifecycle of architecture through creative engagement with robotics, material systems, and design-computation. Students will develop skills in advanced forms of robotic fabrication, simulation, and artificial intelligence, in order to develop methods for design that harness production or live adaptation as a creative opportunity. This is an excellent addition to our already existing MSD programs: the MSD-EBD directed by Professor Bill Braham and the MSD-AAD directed by Professor Ali Rahim, all presented in Pressing Matters 9.
Book was in excellent new condition as described. Book arrived in great shape. Excellent overall cost. There was a shipping problem however, there were 3 books labeled as shipping together, but 2 separate packages were used and both had same tracking number so first package triggered delivered status on all 3 books even though only 2 arrived, the second package with book 3 came next day. So if you dont get one of your books when it says delivered you might wait a couple days for the 2nd package.
On the hunt for this particular cover art, the seller was very helpful with guidance on how to confirm through an ISBN search with the publisher. That solidified my choice to purchase from this seller. The book was packaged well for shipping and protection during travels. I'm extremely pleased with the pricing coupled with the mint condition of the book and the fast shipping (considering the hinderances caused by the current winter conditions). Great transaction and I will shop with them again!
As pictured / as described. Shipping - I ordered Dec 12 and glanced to see something like "Arrives ... 17th-21st", quickly thinking, "OK - plenty of time for Christmas". When it didn't show up, I went back to find it was actually "January 14th-17th" - oops! my goof! Wasn't expecting 5 week shipping. But ultimately, it did come in on Dec 26th, so quicker than the stated and might have been even quicker if not for holidays. Otherwise, good packing. Quick, easy transaction. Thanks!
