Description

A 2 1/2 inch wide x 4 inch tall rectangular-shaped SUN COLORED AMETHYST antique CUSTOM HOUSE & POST OFFICE / KANSAS CITY MO. souvenir PAPER WEIGHT . It has a very early -- very historical AND highly detailed picture of the Custom House and Post Office in K.C. as it looked back in the 1800s. One of the greatest features of this glass paper weight is that the glass has taken on a significant SUN COLORED AMETHYST (sca) tint, common among pre-1914 glass-ware. It is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE b lown- g lass paperweight, dating back to the 1800's . Paperweight reads : " CUSTOM HOUSE AND POST OFFICE / KANSAS CITY, MO. " Condition : The glass paperweight is in nearly perfect condition, NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. The picture has a little fading though it was probably made from a partially faded picture. The back side has missing patches from the paper backing. Please see pictures for idea of overall appearance and condition . Age : An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE blown-glass paperweight, ca. 1800's. Shipping : FREE domestic shipping. We DO ship Internationally but we do NOT insure International orders unless buyer specifically requests this and we are able to provide an insurance estimate. If an international shipping charge is much more than the actual shipping cost, we will refund the excess so what YOU pay for shipping/insurance is very close to, if not exactly, the ACTUAL shipping costs! This is important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are estimates. We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and your prompt payment will hasten the turn-around time. A very worthy and historically important antique paperweight . T he detail in the picture is great, it shows people, horse drawn wagons, street cars, , and the building itself shows great detail. And of great interest is the significant SUN COLORED AMETHYST (sca) tint that the glass itself has. With few exceptions, sun colored amethyst glass predates 1914. A historically important image and one that has been preserved under glass for its entire life , check it out! Terms of Sale : Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction.
