This model is distinguished by privileging the web of economic life that surrounds economic action, the elevation of the a posteriori empirical over the a priori rational for driving economic change, the rejection of performative intervention of economic theory into material economies, immanentist Daoism and Confucianism as opposed to Protestant transcendentalism, the rejection of the notion of "externalities" to economic exchange (what the West would call "externalities" being instead understood as an integral part of the web of economic exchange), a relational versus individualist understanding of property rights, and relational understandings of risk (particularly between generations of a family and in long-term guanxi-like business relations. This model of Chinese capitalism is also leading to a particular form of Chinese urbanism that stands in contrast to neoliberal urbanism by being based on local-state private entrepreneurs in the real estate market, complex property relations emerging through experimental urban governance models, the realization of urbanization through economic development, urban governance autonomies, the re-emergence of generational risk-sharing in housing property, and the hukou (or residence permit) as a new institution of social control. There was a shipping problem however, there were 3 books labeled as shipping together, but 2 separate packages were used and both had same tracking number so first package triggered delivered status on all 3 books even though only 2 arrived, the second package with book 3 came next day. So if you dont get one of your books when it says delivered you might wait a couple days for the 2nd package.

  3. As pictured / as described. Shipping - I ordered Dec 12 and glanced to see something like "Arrives ... 17th-21st", quickly thinking, "OK - plenty of time for Christmas". When it didn't show up, I went back to find it was actually "January 14th-17th" - oops! my goof! Wasn't expecting 5 week shipping. But ultimately, it did come in on Dec 26th, so quicker than the stated and might have been even quicker if not for holidays. Otherwise, good packing. Quick, easy transaction. Thanks!
