Beautiful antique GDA Limoges handled serving platter. I believe this is Schleiger 682-7. Piece is bright white with decorative embossing, gold embellished handles, and blue, lavender sprays of florals all over. Piece measures 14 1/4 inches long from handle to handle, 9 1/2 inches wide at the widest part. Marked on the bottom, as shown, and says "GDA France" and "GDA Limoges" in laurels. GDA stands for the manufacturer "Gerard Dufraisseix & Abbot." It is marked in red and says "Tilden Thurber Co., Providence, RI" Tilden Thurber was a high-end jewelry and fine goods store in Providence that closed in 1991. Very good antique used condition. I did not see any nicks, chips, cracks, or crazing. There are some dimples in the porcelain. These were purchased on Feb. 7, but did not arrive until Feb. 19. They were carefully packed, and as listed. Shipping cost was reasonable. Seller sent them out in a timely manner. It seems that USPS lost the package for several days along the way. Seller did not contact me about a delay. It was frustrating- but they did arrive safely, and all is well.
This is a great seller, 5 stars! Fast shipping, fair price, and fast response to my contacts. One of the items in the order was flawed and she sent a replacement very fast (so five stars for description). I will watch this store for more future purchases.
